Placencia Lobsterfest lived up to its expectations. It delivered three days of entertainment by the sea as vendors set up their booths to prepare the tastiest of lobster dishes and promote their services and products. It’s three days that you spend in the popular peninsula of Belize, enjoying the sights and sounds of the celebration. Of course the taste of the delectable spiny lobster is the big draw.
‘Belize’ it or not, the Placencia Lobsterfest has been running since 1998 and this is the first time we have attended it. What can I say, it usually coincides with the Lobster Festival in San Pedro. Not to be biased, but we usually stay at home as Placencia always seems so far away…
But not anymore! Since going mobile this year, we did not hesitate to travel to Placencia and finally experience their Lobsterfest. We had to join in the celebrations and share it with our readers. It’s very different from from Lobsterfest in San Pedro and Caye Caulker.
Lobsterfest in Placencia is one big beach party that takes place for three days. It’s filled with plenty of lobster to eat, music to whine to, sun to soak, water to wade in and fun to enjoy. People from all over come for food, but end up staying for the entertainment.
Here’s what we experienced at Placencia Lobsterfest 2017:

The best way too cool off was to hit the water – it was hot out there.
The local Rotary Club of Placencia organized a Duck Race – One lucky winner walked away with $250

Best food truck in Belize! We are always happy to see Miss Deb’s Food 2 Go at all the festivals in the country. She moves around!!! LOVE!!
Organizations like Oceana Belize were also present sharing wealth of information and giving away prizes to children who participated in their fun games
The festivities moved to the Placencia Municipal Dock where the fishing tournament concluded at the weigh-in station
