Leave it to my parents to get me to go to school even on the weekend! I was not excited to go to the San Pedro High School’s Business Fair on my day off at all, but as soon as I got there I realized it wasn’t such a bad idea. I’m going to high school in a few years and now I’m really looking forward to it! These kids had real business plans and they were so creative. Models of their buildings, flat screen displays, samples of their food, even mascots and I was in the middle of all of it! I totally took a selfie with a little monkey dude!
The seniors and juniors at the San Pedro High School had to present business plans to the public and judges. Some of them went as far as making jingles and commercials for their businesses. They opened Facebook pages and everything! We walked around the booths and got the kids to explain their plans to us and we could tell they put a lot of work into their projects.
Wheel’s Cafe was cool because they offered coffee and food on the go. I like the idea that they come to you because most school kids can’t leave campus to go buy food. Their little food cart was so cute that I had to test it out and they also had a spunky mascot and a jingle that had me humming all the way home.
San Peezy Creamery was pretty cool too. Who doesn’t like ice-cream on a hot day right? Their monkey tho… cuteness all over! They were very organized and were one of the businesses with a jingle and all the works.
I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t get to try the drinks at Buba Break. They were in the middle of judging them when we walked by, but it all sounded really interesting. They imported their flavored “bubbles” all the way from Taiwan!
There were some businesses that I think the island really needs, like training for people that work in tourism, and a water park… we really need a huge water park!
I was very impressed and excited for these high school kids going out into “the real world” with all these great ideas. I have a feeling some of them are going to be making our island an even more awesome place to live soon! I can’t wait till it’s my turn to show what I can do in the future.
For now I’ll just keep my head in the books and of course, telling you about all my cool experiences in Belize. Please subscribe to iTravel Belize and follow us on our Facebook page to continue supporting my blog. Don’t forget to tell me what you think below.
