Although the most remote destination in the country and tourism not booming yet, Toledo offers four Maya archeological sites, hundreds of pristine cayes for snorkeling and sports fishing, and unexplored rainforests. It is home to the Creole, Mopan Maya, Kek’chi, East Indians, and Garifuna all of which provide a rich cultural experience. It’s a simpler kind of life in Toledo, yet more restaurants and jungle lodges are starting to appear.
