Take a Selfie at the Belize Sign – or a Footsie!

What’s not to love about Belize – the sun, the sand, the beaches, the water, the jungle, the mountains, the serenity and the adventure!? There is so much packed into one small country that boasts both the exotic Latin American charm of being part of Central America and the allure of being part of the Caribbean.

A couple years back the Belize Tourism Board re-branded itself with a new logo and slogan that invited visitors to “Discover How to Be” – Be Belize – BElize. It is not hard to entice people to visit our beautiful country and immerse themselves in the Belize experiences. The food, the culture, the nature and the people create one amazing place filled with adventure and unique experiences.

A very popular spot that has become a BIG attraction in Belize City is the new “Belize” sign located at the Seashore Children’s Park in the Buttonwood Bay Area. What started as a beautification project is now a major tourist attraction.

Throughout the day hundreds of people pull up to the park and take their selfies, creative pics and group shots next to the large B E L I Z E lettering that stand about five feet tall. Cruise ship passengers take a taxi ride from the city’s port just to take a picture at the iconic sign that faces the sea. Everybody gets creative and tries to take unique pictures by climbing atop the large letters.

Next time you are in the city, remember to drop by and take your selfie and let people know that you were in BELIZE!
