Eating as many Mangoes as I Could at Hopkins Mango Fest

I was too excited to even put my shoes on when we arrived at the Hopkins Mango Fest.  I got out of the car and felt my feet against the hot sand, and saw the mango stand and thought to myself, “mangoes, here i come… but slowly because the sand is burning my feet!”

My mom, dad and I walked around the Mango Fest making sure we visited all the booths. First I cooled off at a booth that had mango ideals for me and mango wine for my peeps! The Marie Sharp booth, had mango jam, and Ms. Marie Sharp herself was actually there!  I love meeting Boss Women of Belize! I can’t wait to visit the factory and hear her story about how my favorite peppa sauce was born!

We kept walking and came past a group of kids participating in the tug of war competition. I didn’t want to hurt anyone with my boss muscles so I decided to just watch, LOL! The winners got some cool boogie boards.  Then came the adults’ turn and many lined up at the chance to win a case of beer.  Drink responsibly people!

I haven’t told you, but I have a thing for food trucks! I discovered Ms. Deb at Taste of Belize last year and fell in love with her burgers! She was at the Mango Fest too and guess what??? She had three vegan burger options for mom! Dori got a mango teriyaki bowl, and I got a burger and cheesy fries… Ok, I got a corn dog too!

I think we just missed the mango eating contest cause we found some mango seeds abandoned on a table near the stage.

After food and entertainment, we went to the stand with the most mangoes ever! They let me try two small mangoes for FREE and even a frozen mango on a stick! Don’t tell anyone, but we bought $50 worth of mangoes and I’m probably gonna eat most of them… shhhh! For my first time at Mango Fest, I had a pretty Mangolicious time!

I loved running into friends that follow our adventures this weekend! (Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram). It always means the world when you guys recognize our silly crew.
